Jenna Majors, an undergraduate senior in psychology and MSI lab member, applied for the student success fee grant with her advisor Dr. Alison Vaughn to fund a large group of students to attend the WPA conference in San Francisco. She was granted in the highest funding category to receive funds to cover 38 attendees to experience the WPA conference. Her leadership in securing funds and organizing the project from start to finish also facilitated in including many students to attend or present at a research conference for their first time.

Jenna shared, “Using the Student Success Fee-Academic Related Program, I was able to fully fund 37 students and 1 faculty member to attend the Western Psychological Association in San Francisco this April 2024. It took a lot of communication between air travel, hotel reservations, and conference registration with such a big group. Organizing this event taught me leadership and organizational skills that I will take with me far after college. I absolutely loved seeing everyone there happily presenting, networking, or even getting awards!”
